Mary Olsovsky, age 93, of Abbott, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, December 11, 2012 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza, followed by a visitation until 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Mrs. Olsovsky was born June 18, 1919 in West, the daughter of Vaclav and Bozena (Ruzicka) Smajstrla. She attended St. Mary's School in West. On June 26, 1950 she was united in marriage to Albert L. Olsovsky in Abbott. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1999. Mary was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society #104 in Abbott. Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and tending to her many flowers. She especially loved spending time with her family. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Margaret Klaus and Martha Neill. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Anderson and husband Mack of China Spring and Albert Olsovsky and wife Barbara of West; a sister, Helen Sustala; grandsons, Mark Anderson and wife Monica and Matt Anderson and wife Kourtney; great grandchildren, Max Anderson and Mackenzie Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Bill Sustala, Tommy Neill, Dr. Billy Pierce, John D. Kaska, Albert Srubar and Paul Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Mark and Matt Anderson. The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff at West Rest Haven and Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center 6 South, for all of their love and care during her recent illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fatima Cemetery Association or to West Rest Haven Memorial Fund.
