Marilyn Hutyra, age 80, of Tours, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 23, 2009 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 2:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hutyra was born March 21, 1929 in Tours, the daughter of Herman R. and Rosalie (Mashek) Grimm. She attended school in Tours and graduated from West High School in 1946 before entering 4-C Business College in Waco. On July 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Emil J. Hutyra in Tours. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2008. Marilyn was a homemaker and co-owner of Hoot's Radio and Television Sales and Service Center in West for over 30 years before retiring in 1988. She was a lifelong member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Elizabeth's Altar Society and the West V.F.W. Post 4819 Ladies Auxiliary. Marilyn enjoyed playing chicken foot dominoes, going on Sunday drives, cooking, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was known as a very loving, easy going, dependable, and forgiving person. Marilyn loved her dog "Buddy", her cat "Kitsa" and any other animals that showed up at her house. Her parents and a granddaughter, Emily Hutyra also preceded her in death. She is survived by seven sons, Jerry Hutyra and wife Jessica of Ft. Worth, Tom Hutyra and wife Janice of West, Anthony Hutyra of Plano, Charles Hutyra of Tours, Johnny Hutyra and wife Lisa of West, Richard Hutyra and wife Felisha of Woodway, and Matthew Hutyra and wife Amy of Ennis; four daughters, Mary Rose Schwartz and husband Gene of Southlake, Theresa Polansky and husband Charles of West, Ruth Ann Hutyra of Spring, and Phyliss Teasdale and husband Brad of Montgomery; a brother, Joe Edd Grimm and his wife Ann of West; a sister, Martha Ann Altus and husband Tommy of Granbury; 23 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a special friend and neighbor, Evelyn Podsednik; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Eric Polansky, Brandon Polansky, Stephen Hutyra, Joseph Hutyra, Brian Hutyra, Landus Hutyra, Michael Schwartz, and Blake Teasdale. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Catholic Church or the Leroy Volunteer Fire Department.
