Lois Lands

Lois Lands, age 86 of Waco, formerly of West, passed away Wednesday evening, February 11, 2009 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. Donna J. Ware officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Lois was born December 2, 1922 in Limestone County, near Wortham, the daughter of Tom Henry and Alice (Stockton) Ryno. She attended school in Munger and Coolidge. On May 8, 1947 she was united in marriage to William F. Lands in Waco. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2002. Lois was a homemaker. She was a volunteer with Caritas in Waco and a member of the Paper Dolls in Hewitt. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in West and the First United Methodist Church in Hewitt, where she formerly served as a children's Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roger Dale Lands; one brother, Walter Ryno; two sisters Thelma Lewis and Myrtle Lewis. Survivors include one son, Larry Lands of Waco; two daughters, Ruth Hansen and husband Tom of Houston, and Nancy Griffith and husband Phil of Weatherford; two sisters, Beulah Hahn of Gatesville, and Lillian Fleming of West; five grandchildren, Jason Lands and wife Amy, Ashley Lands, Bryan Boyce, Emily Harden and husband Tyler, and Ryan Griffith; 3 great grandchildren, Caden and Christian Lands, and Lila Harden; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Jason Lands, Tom Hansen, Phil Griffith, Ryan Griffith, Tyler Harden and David Fleming. Memorials may be made to Hewitt First United Methodist Church or Caritas of Waco.
