Lloyd Blaschke, age 82, of Plano, formerly of West, passed away Friday, July 7, in Dallas. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Rev. Vincent Chacko, IMS as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery conducted by VFW Post No. 4819 of West. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mr. Blaschke was born on September 4, 1923 in West, the son of Charles and Augusta Blaschke. He graduated from West High School in 1941 and served his country during World War II. He was a B24 mechanic and crew chief in Foggia, Italy where he kept "Leap Year Lady" flying continuous missions. On June 22, 1946, he was united in marriage to Josephine (Kudelka). She preceded him in death on December 11, 1975. Lloyd spent most of his adult life in Ft. Worth where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic and iron worker before retiring from Besteel Industries in 1979, as Co-owner and Chief Sales Engineer. After his retirement, he enjoyed establishing Mr. B's Place on Lake Weatherford. He was member of St. Patrick's Cathedral and Knights of Columbus Council #759 for over 57 years. Lloyd supported the West Side Lions Club, Nolan High School, Texas A&M University, as well as many other activities in the Ft. Worth area. His sons and daughter wish to thank his lifelong friends and family for all of the blessings of love you shared with their father over his lifetime, especially Martha and C.J. Hlavaty, Herbert & Gerri Blaschke, and Alfred & Irma Blaschke. He is also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Freddie. Survivors include three sons, David Blaschke of Frisco, Dennis Baschke and his wife Mary of Cypress, and Douglas Blaschke of Lake Weatherford; one daughter, Donna Grant of Plano; two brother, Alfred Blaschke of Ross and Herbert Blaschke of Waco; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Dennis Blaschke, Jr., David Blaschke, Jr., Aaron Liggitt, Andrew Liggitt, Mark Grahmann, Darrell Abramowitz and Jerry Ponzio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Rest Haven Memorial Fund or to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
