Leonard O. Kessler

Leonard O. Kessler, age 69, of Lorena, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Kessler was born June 20, 1937 in Mt. Calm, the son of Louis and Mary (Novak) Kessler. He attended schools in Penelope. On June 12, 1964 Leonard was united in marriage to Doris Marie Warren in Waco. He was a machine operator for Island Plastics in Waco for several years. Leonard also worked for Wolf's Nursery and the City of Waco. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and gardening. His parents and two brothers, Louis Kessler and Frank Kessler, all preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Doris Kessler of Lorena; two sons, Robert Kessler and his wife Connie Ferree of New Castle, Indiana and Hylas Kessler of Waco; a daughter, Mary Ann Robinson and her husband John of Waco; a stepson, Virgil Wilkinson, Jr. of Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Jeanette Toney and Patsy Dumont, both of Oklahoma; three sisters, Mary Lou Mynar and husband Edward of West, Irene Berger of Mart, and Georgia Cassano and husband Vince of Tyler; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
