Larry James Scott, age 56, of West, passed away late Monday evening, April 30, 2007 at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Anthony Odiong as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Larry was born September 13, 1950 the son of Tal and Margaret (Gerik) Scott in Waco. He was raised in West and attended St. Mary's School before graduating from West High School in 1969. He went on to receive an associate degree from Hill College in Hillsboro. He was an inventory manager for Derek Scott Auto Park in Hearne. Prior to that he worked for Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet in Ft. Worth for over 20 years. Larry was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was also a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No 6 in Cottonwood, Society of Sales Executives at General Motors, and the Knights of Columbus Council 2305 where he was a 3rd and 4th degree knight. Larry enjoyed bowling, hunting, golfing, fishing, Bar-B-Quing, and being a Dallas Cowboy Football fan. He especially loved to spend time with family and friends. His father, Tal Scott and his brother, Gene Scott, both preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Cardwell Scott of West; a son, Brian Foitek and wife Kim of West; a daughter, Amy Hill and husband Robert of Houston; his mother, Margaret Scott of West; a brother, David Scott and wife Lou of Bryan; a sister, Debby Marak and husband Harry Lee of West; a sister-in-law, Dolores Scott of Ft. Worth; three grandchildren, Addyson, Avery, and Logan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Active pallbearers are Brian Scott, Derek Scott, Chad Marak, Joe Mashek, Jimmy Doherty, Sandy Kellner, Johnny Girard and Robert Brown. Honorary pallbearers are the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice or to Hillcrest Community Hospice.
