Juanita B. Smith

Juanita B. Smith, age 87, of Leroy, passed away late Wednesday morning, September 28, 2011 at Meadowlands Terrace in Waco. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at The Leroy Church, with Rev. Greg Way officiating. Mrs. Smith was born March 22, 1924 in Waco, the daughter of William Thomas and Letha Agnes (Estep) Brandon. She attended Brook Avenue Elementary School and graduated from Waco High School in 1941. On March 17, 1944 she was united in marriage to George William Smith in Waco. Juanita was a homemaker. She was a member of The Leroy Church where she served as choir director for over 18 years. Juanita enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening and playing the piano. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wanda Brandon. Survivors include her beloved husband of 67 years, George W. Smith; a son, Robert D. Smith of Axtell; a daughter, Donna Lynn Estes and husband Mark of West; two brothers, Bill Brandon of Ft. Worth and Don Brandon of Bruceville Eddy; five grandchildren, Caleb Estes, Joshua Estes, Nicole Hondo, Rachel Klamm, and Jason Smith; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leroy Church.
