Jimmie B. Roberts

Jimmie B. Roberts, age 74, of Penelope, formerly of Morgan, passed away Friday morning, April 17, 2009 at his residence. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lake Shore Drive Church of Christ in Waco with Minister Ernie Christie officiating. Mr. Roberts was born September 7, 1934 in Donna, the son of Luther and Verna (Dollar) Roberts. He attended schools in Whitney and Ft. Worth. On November 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Anna Lea Hageman in Ft. Worth. Jimmie was an independent truck driver for many years for Carpenter Paper Co. in Ft. Worth . He then delivered for the Ft. Worth Star Telegram and the Waco Tribune Herald in Bosque County until his retirement in 1991. Jimmie enjoyed fishing, especially with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Lakeshore Church of Christ in Waco. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Lynn Roberts. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Anna Roberts of Penelope; a daughter, Brenda Adair and husband Gary of West; two sons, Danny L. Roberts of Matagorda and Randy B. Roberts and wife Norma of Lakeside Village; his sister, Stella Youngblood of Ft. Worth; nine grandchildren, Jessica Hall and husband Erik, LeAnn Adair, David Adair and wife Erin, Danielle Cockrell, Trishelle Roberts, Justin Lemmer, Jodie Beasley and husband Willie, Bekka Roberts, and Bradley Roberts; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
