Harlan L. Williams, age 81, of West, formerly of Italy, passed away late Friday afternoon, November 18, 2005 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Forreston Cemetery near Italy, with Rosalee Huff officiating. Mr. Williams was born September 29, 1924 in Italy, the son of Tim and Laura (Newman) Williams. He graduated from Crosier Tech High School and attended Texas A & M University and the University of Texas at Arlington. He served his country with the United States Army during World War II. Harlan was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Huff on September 21, 1962 in Oklahoma. He worked for the City of Dallas Water Department serving as a section supervisor for over 20 years before retiring in 1980. Harlan was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dallas. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, and riding through the country, he especially loved to spend time with his family. His parents; a grandson, David Ray Williams; a brother, Alvin Williams; and a niece, Cindy Williams; all preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Ruth Ann Williams of West; a son Ronnie Williams and wife Debra of Dallas; four daughters, Sue Pendegraph of Paris, Jaqulin Williams of Joplin, Missouri, Sondra Stoermer and husband Steve and Rebecca Snokhous, all of West; a brother, Jim Wiliams of Victorville, California; a sister, Colleen Sanders of Frost; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
