Elvera A. Vrba, age 82 of Tours, passed away in a Itasca nursing home, Saturday evening, October 28, 2006. Rosary will be recited 10 a.m. Tuesday, followed by Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Ed Karasek, as celebrant, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Mrs. Vrba was born November 12, 1923 at West, Texas, daughter of Louis and Clara Damhuse Glomb. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church at Tours, and had worked as a nurses aide at West Community Hospital from 1972 until 1986. She married Ernest Vrba, January 21, 1947 at Tours, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1985. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Vrba who passed away May 11, 1991. Mrs. Vrba is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Smith and husband David of Angelton, Texas and Yvonne Paice and husband Robert of Sparta, Tennessee, a son, Larry Vrba of West, a daughter-in-law, Diana Vrba of Houston and a brother Norbert Glomb of Arkansas, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Craig Bielamowicz, Bryan Cull, Randi Jo Vrba, Callie Rae Vrba and David Smith. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Kotch Funeral Home in West. Memorials may be made to St. Martin's Catholic Church Building Fund.
