Dorothy Ann Hutyra, age 86, of West, passed away late Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2015 at Crestview Healthcare Residence in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Dorothy was born July 26, 1928 in Penelope, the daughter of Emil and Annie (Marek) Janek. She attended the old Griffin School and graduated from Penelope High School. On October 27, 1947 she was united in marriage to William A. "Willie" Hutyra in Penelope. Willie preceded her in death on October 27, 2002. Dorothy worked as a seamstress for the Lorch Manufacturing and Wolf Manufacturing for many years and for the Village Bakery and Nors Bakery, all in West. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Dorothy loved gardening and collecting different rocks to make rock gardens. She enjoyed cooking and listening to Czech music. Dorothy is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dwane Hutyra; brothers, Henry Janek and Emil Janek; and sisters, Regina Adamcik and Lillie Mae Nors. Survivors include a son, Michael Hutyra of West; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hutyra of Waco; a granddaughter, Tina Dekle and Husband David of Waco; a great-granddaughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Dekle on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
