Mrs. Joe Edd (Dolores) Maler, age 68, of West, passed away Sunday evening, June 19, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with the Rev. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Maler was born on August 7, 1936 near Aquilla, the daughter of Dossie and Addie (McGuire) Reed. She attended schools in the West area. On March 9, 1968, she was united in marriage to Joe Edd Maler in West. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2004. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family and taking care of her birds. Dolores also worked as a beautician, a nurse aide for West Rest Haven and Burlington Mills in West. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West. Her parents and a grandson, David Wayne Miles, also precede her in death. Survivors include five daughters, Gwen and James "Termite" Whitman of West, Kim Turnbough of Whitney, Gale and David Bullard of Morgan, Kathy and Brian Ballew of Aquilla, and Anissa and Inky Adamson of West; one son, Bobby Lucas of Ft. Worth; one brother, David Reed of West; two sisters, Peggy June Johnson of Irving and Debbie Britt of Alabama; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Lucas of Ft. Worth; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy "Bubba" Heathcott, Devin Richards, Joe Don Webb, Julio "Moe Rodarte, Ricky Coleman, Snake Adamson, Ricky Maler and Doug Maler. Honorary pallbearers will be David Reed, sons-in-law and the grandsons. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice.
