Deborah "Debbie" Vrba, age 56, of West, passed away Monday afternoon, September 10, 2018 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Dallas. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Friday, September 14, 2018 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar, and Rev. Stephen Duyka as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Debbie was born March 31, 1962 in Ft. Worth, the daughter of John Norman and Angie (Bailey) Norman Bewley. She was a 1980 graduate of Itasca High School. On February 18, 1984 she was united in marriage to Stanley Vrba Jr. in West, Texas. Deborah was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. She worked for West I.S.D. for 16 years. In 2002 she worked as an educational aide at WHS and then in 2005 became an special education teacher at Brookhaven Youth Ranch Campus. Debbie enjoyed working with children, teaching, traveling, history, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Martin Parish Council, St. Elizabeth Altar Society where she served as Secretary, served as West ISD Treasurer for ATPE, and was a former Girl Scout leader for the West Troop. Debbie dedicated her life to being her best as a mother, teacher, aunt and friend. Debbie is preceded in death by her father, John Burton Norman, and step-father, Jim Bewley. Survivors include her beloved husband of 34 years, Stanley Vrba Jr.; two daughters, Deanna Vrba and fiance Joe Jones, Rebecca Kietlinski and husband Kiel; her mother, Angie Bewley; three sisters-in-law, Pam Vrba and James Cagle, Melissa Vrba, and Melinda Vrba; two uncles, John Bailey and wife Mary, and Pat Bailey and wife Sharon; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Steven Anness, Clint Bailey, Jeremy Pope, Robert White, Nicholas Trojan, Damon Pokluda, and Travis Bates. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Vrba, Brian Anness, Tommy Livingston Jr., and the teachers and staff of Brookhaven Youth Ranch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery Association or St. Martin Catholic Church Building Fund.
