Daniel R. Maler, age 81, of Waco, passed away early Saturday morning, January 7, 2012 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. Services will be held 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m. at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mr. Maler was born September 8, 1930 in West, the son of Rudolph and Annie (Aimer) Maler. He attended school in Rosenthal. He married Wilma Bradburry in Waco. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1994. Daniel retired for the William Cameron Company in Waco for 25 years. He enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, playing dominoes, and tending to his animals. He is also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Almeda Horton. Survivors include two stepsons, Charles Ling of Bremond and Lee Ling of Lorena; a sister, Ruddie Tusa of Waco; a nephew, Chuck Horton and his wife Kathleen of West; and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School in West Endowment Fund or St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in Waco Bereavement Fund.
