Clyde Beckham, age 94, of Penelope, passed away early Saturday morning, February 25, 2017 at Quality Care Nursing Home in Waco. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Clyde was born November 12, 1922 in Prairie Hill, the son of Luke and Frankie (Warr) Beckham. He attended school in Hallsburg. He served his country with the United States Army during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Clyde worked for Sears Department Store in Waco in the automotive and delivery departments for many years before his retirement. He was also a farmer and raised cattle in the Penelope area. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, Maurice, Leonard and Roy Beckham; and a sister, Florence Perkins. Survivors include a sister, Helen Uptmor of Hallsburg; a brother, J.L. Beckham of Hot Springs, SD; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to express their thanks to Southern Care Hospice and Quality Care for their compassionate care and outstanding service.
