Charles "Charlie" Brown, age 51, of West, went to be with the Lord after a 12 year courageous battle with liver disease Tuesday morning, June 30, 2009 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Charlie was born February 26, 1958 in Fort Worth, the son of Bernard Charles and Wanda Faye (Lisby) Brown. He attended West schools and was a member of the West High Class of 1976. Charlie worked as a trucking dispatcher for various companies including Southwestern Carriers for 26 years before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed fishing watching football and Nascar, and he especially loved spending time with his daughters. He was a member of Davis Blvd. Baptist Church in Richland Hills. His father, Charles Brown and a niece, Jamie Chudej preceded him in death. He is survived by three daughters, Natasha Brown and fianc Jeff Dunagan of Haltom City, and Lacie Brown and Alaina Brown, both of Saginaw; a step-son, Brandon New of Rhome; his mother, Wanda Brown of West; one brother, Roger Brown and wife Michelda of Mexia; one sister, Brenda Butcher and husband Curtis of Aquilla; two grandchildren, Jillian and Caleb Dunagan; his dog, Prissy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Rock Cemetery Association.
