Brenda Kocurek

Brenda Kocurek, age 52, of Whitney, formerly of Abbott, passed away Friday afternoon, October 8, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. Brenda was born March 24, 1969 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Jerry and Margaret (Janda) Kramolis. She attended Abbott schools and was a 1987 graduate of Abbott High School. On September 15, 1990 she was united in marriage to John Kocurek in West. Brenda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was a homemaker and worked for Whitney Independent School District for 3 years driving special needs children to and from school. Brenda enjoyed dancing, and visiting with her friends and family. Survivors include her beloved husband of 31 years, John Kocurek of Whitney; a sister; two brothers; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waco Humane Society or Fuzzy Friends Rescue.
