Billy G. Gillmore, age 92, of West, passed away early Sunday morning, April 4, 2021 at West Rest Haven in West. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Minister Ernie Albrecht officiating. Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Parker Memorial Park near Mexia. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. Billy was born December 13, 1928 in Winters, Texas the son of Bester "Buck" and Lilly (McDonald) Gillmore. He attended schools near Mexia area. On January 30, 1949 he was united in marriage to Davie Joy Shields in Dallas. Davie preceded him in death on June 5, 1987. He was then united in marriage to Molly (Hannes) Heine on February 14, 1990 in Mexia. Billy proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member, teacher and Elder of the West Church of Christ and formerly the Laguna Church of Christ. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Mexia and Waco for 44 years before retiring in 1992. Billy enjoyed playing 42, golfing, and eating cookies and chocolate pie. He especially loved spending time with his family. Billy is also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Gillmore; and a sister, Lavern. Survivors include his beloved wife, Molly Gillmore of West; his children, Paula Williams and husband Malcolm of Tyler and Steven Gillmore of Frisco; his step children, Gary Heine of Waco, Bobby Heine of Austin, and Peggy Hall and husband Greg of West; 3 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 1 step granddaughter; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Church of Christ.
