Adolph Vochoska Jr., known as Butch by family and friends, age 77, of Leander, formerly of West, sadly left us late Monday afternoon, July 4, 2022 at Northwest Hospital in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours. Butch was born April 14, 1945 in Waco, the son of Edith (Moon) and Adolph Vochoska Sr. He attended schools in West and was a 1964 graduate of West High School, where he excelled in sports, especially football where he was given KCEN-TV Team recognition. On June 19, 1965 he was united in marriage to Frances Vrba in Tours. Butch was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park and the Knights of Columbus Council #10375 in Hillsboro. He was a hardworking carpenter, Jack of all trades, a devoted husband, a nurturing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who was affectionately known as Papaw. He retired as a construction manager for Choice Homes in 2008. His love and passion for road trips sent him on many fun adventures in his camper trailer. Butch and Fran raised their family and lived in Garland for 40 years. He was a volunteer coach at Good Shepherd Catholic School in Garland where he loved coaching football and softball. He and Fran built their dream home in Whitney and a few years later, they moved to Leander. Butch never met a stranger and leaves behind a number of lifelong and dear friends. Butch is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William S. Vochoska; and a sister, Helen Vochoska Lucien. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Frances Vrba Vochoska of Leander; his children, Chris Vochoska and wife Sandy of Flower Mound, Shana McMillan and husband Roger of Leander, and Jennifer Vu and husband Steve of Austin; his grandchildren, Lindsay Vochoska-Wade and husband CJ, Kyle Vochoska and wife Yeli, Savanna Vochoska, Lily Vu, and Allie Vu; great-grandchildren, Madison Vochoska, Lyla Vochoska-Griffin, Rosita Vochoska, Willie Vochoska, and Frannie Vochoska; a sister, Jeanette Donnell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Pat Donnell, Kevin Donnell, Eric Vrba, James Hoverson, Nathan Collard, and Tony Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Lucien, Kenneth Vochoska, and Stephen Vochoska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
